2023 Season

The 2023 season features a fabulous roster of friends old and new: Elizabeth Young (violinist) and John Tiranno (tenor) of the Young-Tiranno Duo, Grace Browning (harpist), Megan Marino (mezzo-soprano), Jamie Jordan Druckman (soprano), Benjamin Krug (cello), Patricia Zuber (flute), Lorenzo Colitto and Lisa Ferguson (baroque violin), husband & wife team Debra Fong (violin) and Christopher Costanza (cello), Leslie Dala (piano), and Kathleen McIntosh (harpsichord).

 

Saturday, July 15th at 3:00 PM: The Young-Tiranno Duo

The Young-Tiranno Duo kicks off the 2023 season with a collection of duos for tenor and violin featuring local favorites Elizabeth Young and husband John Tiranno.

Saturday, July 22nd at 3:00 PM: Cellist Christopher Costanza in Recital

Now celebrating his 20th season as cellist with the St. Lawrence String Quartet, Christopher Costanza makes his solo debut in San Miguel Chapel performing works by J.S. Bach, Arvo Pärt, and Bright Sheng.

Saturday, July 29th at 3:00 PM: Archipelago

Featuring international Baroque artists Lorenzo Colitto and Lisa Ferguson, this historic performance takes us back to the 1700’s when San Miguel Chapel first opened its doors. They are joined by Kathleen McIntosh (harpsichord), Joel Becktell (cello), and David Solem (organ).

Saturday, August 5th at 3:00 PM: From Creede With Love

Harpist and CM@SMC Curator Grace Browning joins forces with mezzo-soprano and Creede Musical Arts Collective Director Megan Marino for a joint program with Benjamin Krug (cellist, Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra) and Patricia Zuber (flutist, Santa Fe Opera) featuring unique arrangements for this eclectic ensemble.

Sunday, August 6th at 7:00 PM: Les and Friends (Sunday Night Special)

Pianist and Conductor Leslie Dala (Vancouver and Santa Fe Opera) returns from his fabulous 2022 debut for an intimate collection of chamber music with instrumentalists and vocalists from around the world.

Saturday, August 12th at 3:00 PM: The Juniper Trio

Husband and wife team Debra Fong (violinist, Santa Fe Opera Orchestra) and Christopher Costanza (cellist, St. Lawrence String Quartet), have performed together for over 25 years. This acclaimed duo returns for the first time since San Miguel's inaugural season in 2017, this time joined by their child, Ezra Costanza, on viola.

Sunday, August 13th at 1:00 PM: New York Soundscapes

Soprano Jamie Jordan Druckman (New York New Music Ensemble), flutist Patricia Zuber (Santa Fe Opera), and harpist Grace Browning (Rochester Philharmonic and Santa Fe Opera) join in an eclectic program featuring works by composers from across the country, including George Crumb’s Federico’s Little Songs for Children

Saturday, August 19th: Opera in the Oldest Chapel

Now a popular annual tradition, singers, instrumentalists, and friends of the Santa Fe Opera reunite for a program of operatic vignettes, art songs, and annual favorites in this grand season finale. Reception to follow.
